This year has been a unique one and many families are tightening their belts in preparation of continued layoffs and the holidays swiftly approaching. However, by now I bet everyone in the family is suffering from cabin fever. As things in our community start to open back up, now is the time to keep kids busy, active and get out of the house as a family.
Here are some of the free and almost free things to do in North Las Vegas.
Aliante Nature Discovery Park - FREE

Locals call Aliante Nature Discovery Park the Dinosaur Park because of the dinosaur theme and the Dino Dig Sandbox. Kids will have a blast spending the afternoon at this park exploring, sliding down the slides, playing in the tot area, and splashing around the splash pad in the summer.
Craig Ranch Regional Park - FREE

With 170 acres to explore, families love spending time at Craig Ranch Regional Park. This park features a skate park, dog parks, baseball fields, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, community gardens, and lots of open spaces.

CSN Planetarium - $6 general admission

Experience the night sky at the CSN Planetarium. You are sure to have a blast experiencing the many different options available at the Planetarium, including shows and displays. This is a great learning opportunity for kids.

SoBe Ice Arena - $7 admission; $3 skate rental

The SoBe Ice Arena offers a variety of classes, leagues, and open skating opportunities. Families will have fun experiencing ice skating here in the desert.

West Wind Drive In - $8 per person; $2 for ages 5-11; children 4 and under are always free

Grab your snacks and popcorn and head on out to the drive-in. This is a classic way to spend time with the family without spending a ton of money. Visit on family night (Tuesdays) for discounted admission prices - $5 per person; $2 for ages 5-11; children 4 and under are always free.
